Chase's Cross-Country Train Trip

Chase_N_471-4.jpg

Since Chase was three years old, he wanted to be a train engineer.  So, it was no surprise that Chase’s wish was to travel across the country on a sleeper train.  Chase, a 17-year-old from Essex Junction living with kidney disease, was thrilled to have his wish come true.  "I have a smile so big it doesn't fit on my face!"  Chase & his family spent their days on the train enjoying the food, watching the breathtaking views flash by and sleeping soundly as the train zipped along.

"Words cannot describe how great Chase’s wish was.  Maybe some of the 700+ pictures can try.  It was wonderful!” -Julie, Chase’s mom

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Vermont grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions, to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. If you know a child with a life-threatening medical condition who lives in Vermont, please contact us and Share the Power of a Wish®.

The Foundation, through a personal interview with the child, makes sure that it grants each child his or her special wish. In every case, the entire immediate family is included as part of the wish to help create special family memories. The purpose is to emphasize the joy of the wish fulfilled; not the illness. Neither the child nor the family is ever asked to pay for any portion of a fulfilled wish.
